Turning Japanese with Josie Brown Sunday 13th Feb 2022

THIS WORKSHOP IS IN PERSON AT LOWER WITHINGTON

Develop your own Japanese style script, using brush pens on a paper hanging in the manner of their elegant silk panels.  We will consider oriental design principles and use suminagashi, an ink-based marbling technique, together with collaging other Japanese paper scraps to create an impressive simulation of a silk hanging.

Equipment and materials needed on the day by participants:

In addition to most items on the usual calligraphy kit list, please bring:

  • Layout or cartridge paper
  • 1 or 2 brush pens in black
